The Dow Chemical Company took an active part in the 17th international chemical exhibition “Khimia-2013” (October 28-31, 2013 Moscow Expocentre), showcasing at the stand latest technological advances and the comprehensive portfolio of solutions for Russia and Former Soviet Union.
Among them were featured energy-efficient solutions for construction and coatings industries; high-performing films for flexible and industrial packaging; complex product portfolio for oil & gas and energy; polyurethane systems for a wide range of applications; and others.
Dow Russian and international business leaders and technical representatives, along with the Russian joint venture company Dow Izolan engaged in an open dialogue with the exhibition participants and guests on current trends and developments in the chemical industry.

During Khimia-2013, Dow hosted two technical seminars and signed agreements with Russian and international companies.
Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics held on October 29 a technical seminar entitled “Practical experience of plastic pipes made of polyethylene of raised temperature resistance DOWLEX PE-RT in district heating, hot water supply and industrial pipe systems”.
During the seminar companies producing polymer pipes and fittings shared their practical experience in operation of pipes made of polyethylene of raised temperature resistance DOWLEX PE-RT in district heating, hot water supply and industrial pipe systems. Using the particular examples, the industry experts demonstrated the advantages of DOWLEX PE-RT pipe systems compared to metal and other temperature resistant types of plastic.
On October 30, two Dow’s businesses – Dow Oil & Gas and Dow Microbial Control – presented a wide range of solutions for the oil & gas industry. A few lines will be added.
On October 30, Dow and JSC SIBUR Holding, recognized leading manufacturers of basic and specialty chemistry, signed a framework agreement which clarifies the companies' collaboration in the spheres of fuel ethers, process technologies of sorption and others. The parties aim to introduce at SIBUR's sites Dow's latest technologies and solutions that increase efficiency of production processes and ensure the quality of future product.
On October 30, Dow, together with other major coatings producers and raw materials suppliers - LLC Tikkurila, JSC Yaroslavskie Kraski, CJSC Akzo Nobel Décor and DuPont Titanium Technologies - signed a Charter to form the Quality Paint Association in Russia.
The Association aims to unite major producers of paints and varnishes, raw materials suppliers and other players of the coatings and paints industry in Russia - to advance international quality, and safety and environmental standards of paints on the Russian market bringing the market closer to Western international standards.
