An India startup company headed by Rohan Desle has launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund optical illusion LED bulbs.
The warm white LED bulbs have a lifetime of 50,000 hours and there are seven models that backers can choose from including Eiffel tower, deer, hexsphere, spiral, globe, pyramid and snake.

The concept of the luminaires is not new.
Two-dimensional optical illusional LED bulb designs first emerged on the market in April 2014. At the time Studio Checha, an Israeli startup captured worldwide headlines with Bulbing, a flat acrylic LED luminaire that appeared three dimensional to the naked human eye. Less than a year later, Chinese company CNHIDEE launched an upgraded me too product. Their version of the 3D optical bulb was touch controllable, and included additional USB charger features.

The perks of Luminosquare bulb compared to other similar bulbs out there is probably its lower price of US $40 for early backers, compared to the about US $47 offer Bulbing gave to first batch of backers.
Backers of Luminosquare Indiegogo campaign are expected to receive the bulbs before Christmas, and for early backers hopefully by October 2015 earliest.

The project has raised US $2,334 within a week. LUMINOsquare aims to raise in total US $10,000 in the next 33 days.
