Germany-based printing inks manufacturer Siegwerk is striking new paths to further shape the future of packaging.
The company said digitalized processes and partnerships with relevant start-ups will allow it to confront future industry trends in an optimum way and further shape the future of packaging.
Siegwerk revealed that it is exploring concretely for technologies and innovations to back the development of pioneering concepts in packaging.
The company, which provides printing inks for packaging applications and labels, says that it has initiated first discussions with start-ups and intends to establish a systematic process for selection of its new partners.
The process would be used for screening the start-up scene for potential partners and also for providing interested start-ups a convenient platform to introduce themselves to it and discuss the possibility of collaboration.
Siegwerk says that strategic collaboration with relevant start-ups is important for it to access key insights in new ideas and developments that could trigger innovative ink developments to satisfy upcoming trends in the ink and packaging sectors.
Siegwerk digital business head Christoph Barniske said: “Start-ups are home of trendsetting ideas and an exceptional inventive spirit.

As part of its commitment to push towards digitalization, Siegwerk has launched a new digital business unit based in Berlin.
The new unit will understand how customer proximity and big data can help to enhance its services to customers, to improve the work of the sales teams and to bring in new infrastructure projects designed to create global synergies.
