India-based e-commerce firm TeaBox has introduced new individually packaged tea bags called TeaPacs.
The new packaged tea bags are sealed at the source by using a natural nitrogen flush, helping to preserve flavor and freshness.
TeaBox has designed the new bag to protect tea from oxygen, light, heat and moisture, allowing to minimize the deterioration and loss of flavor.
TeaPacs feature a pyramid-shaped bag that will enable leaves to unfurl, while traditional tea bags are filled with broken tea leaves.
The firm is launching 18 TeaPac varieties, including traditional English Breakfast and Earl Grey and specialty blends Masala Chai and Mountain Rose.
TeaPacs are available in boxes of 16 at a price of $10.
Teabox founder and CEO Kaushal Dugar said: "Coming from a tea family and spending my childhood amongst tea estates, I grew up drinking some of the world's best teas -- so I know how fresh tea is meant to taste.
"At Teabox, we want to ensure that every cup of tea consumed is the freshest in the world, but we know that not everyone has time to steep loose leaf. We created TeaPacs so that anyone can enjoy the world's freshest tea, anywhere, anytime. It's tea as it should be."
With around 150 estates across India and Nepal, Teabox provides around 200loose leaf tea varieties to its customers.
The company is also involved in supply chain sourcing, cold chain processing and packaging operations.
