Frozen Value's Ice Cream Products are Recalled in UK

Frozen Value has expanded its recall of its ice cream products in the UK, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA). The products are being recalled as they contain nuts, peanuts or sulphites, which are not declared on the product label.

On 22 June, the company announced that it is recalling Picard Chocolate and Pistachio Cones, with best before date of March 2013.

The latest recall includes all date codes of the following products - Hawai Gourmand Vanilla Chocolate Cone; Hawai Gourmand Vanilla cone with sugared hazelnuts; Hawai Gourmand 4 Vanilla Chocolate and 4 Chocolate Pistachio; Super Duo Chocolate tub white and milk chocolate dairy ice cream; and Albert Heijn Walnut ice cream tub.

Consumers who are allergic to nuts, sulphites or peanuts have been advised not to eat these products.

Frozen Value has withdrawn the affected product, and have advised to contact the relevant allergy support organizations, which will explain to their members why the product is being withdrawn. Consumers who have bought the product can return it to the store for a full refund.

No other Frozen Value products are known to be affected.
