AU Optronics' (AUO) Solar Business Group is establishing Sungen Power, the largest rooftop PV power-generating station so far in Taiwan, at its panel factories in central Taiwan, according to company vice president and business group general manager James Chen.
Consisting of 44,340 PV modules, Sungen Power has total installation capacity of 13.36MWp and can generate 46,000kWh of electricity to supply 4,600 households a day, equivalent to a reduction in carbon emissions of 9,000 tonnes a year, Chen said. Total installation capacity is expected to increase to 20MWp at the end of 2014, Chen said.
