Examples From Christie's Huge Projection Portfolio Can Be Seen at PLASA 2012

UK - Examples from Christie's huge projection portfolio can be seen at PLASA 2012 - both on the show floor and at the high profile collateral event, The Knights of Illumination.

AC Entertainment Technologies is showing the Christie Nitro integrated motorised yoke and projector system (in the shape of a YK50 harnessing a Christie LHD700 projector) on stand # 1-E10.

Coolux GmbH is also be using Christie 3-chip DLP HD projection on stand # 1-C17, where a pair of Roadster HD10K-M 3-chip DLP® 1080 HD projectors will be soft-edge blended and warped to project onto a geometrical shaped screen, made from different pieces of Styrofoam.

These are supported by four Christie LWU420 3LCD projectors. While two of these WUXGA projectors will perform a 360° projection on a wooden bird house, a further two LWU420 will project onto an interactive wheel and an interactive brick, where the projected images will be following any movements from the respective surfaces.

Major Christie customer, Hawthorn Theatrical, is also exhibiting (# 2-S24). But it will be several miles away from Earls Court at Battersea Evolution that they are their big statement, using Christie projectors to provide highly original visual reinforcement for the 5th Knights of Illumination Awards - the popular event, which honours lighting designers.

Hawthorn deployed five process-controlled Roadster HD20K-J Series projectors, blended to create a single seamless image. These fire onto a giant screen measuring 22m wide by 5m tall, with an omega shape creating a curved backdrop, which will encompass a circular presentation stage.

Hawthorn has a vast stock of current Christie projectors, and added the J series projectors to its existing M series inventory earlier this year.

MD Martin Hawthorn commented, "One of the attractions of the M Series is its light weight and quiet operation, coupled with the flexibility of using lenses that are interchangeable throughout the rest of the Series. This faith has been repaid with marvellous reliability, hence the large investment we have now made in the J series, which bear common components." In addition, Hawthorn also has Christie Warp cards and further Mirage 3D projectors in its hire fleet.
