Germany-based Human Solutions GmbH — a provider of 3-D body dimension data and ergonomic simulation — has added baby and toddler body dimensions to iSize, its international body dimension portal for apparel manufacturers. The new data will help manufacturers in the German and French markets improve the size, fit and safety of children's products including mini-apparel, furniture and car seats.
The data were collected by the France-based Institut Francais du Textile et l'Habillement (IFTH) via a serial measurement survey of 2,000 subjects. Measurements of babies up to two years old were collected manually, while measurements of toddlers aged three through five were collected using a 3-D bodyscanner.
Human Solutions' iSize online portal provides access to size tables, body dimensions, socio-demographic information, population figures and market shares, and offers guaranteed comparable serial management data of different countries, the company reports.
