Demand for New Commercial Vehicles in The EU Was Down 2.7% in Jan-Oct

In October this year, new commercial vehicle registrations grew by 8.1 percent year on year in the European Union, totaling 158,960 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). The month counted on average the same number of working day across the region. Looking at the major markets, Italian (-12.8 percent) market shrank in comparison with October 2012, French market grew by 4.3 percent and German market grew by 2.4, while the UK (+27.2 percent) and Spanish (+25.7 percent) markets posted double-digit increases.

In the first ten months of this year, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU was down 2.7 percent year on year, with 1,389,244 new registrations. Spain (+4.3 percent) and the UK (+9.6 percent) recorded more vehicle registrations than in the same period last year, while Italy (-15.7 percent), Germany (-5.9 percent) and France (-5.8 percent) saw their markets decline.
