North American injection molded plastic products manufacturer IPL has introduced new family of the new square food containers at the K 2013 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The clear polypropylene (PP) Film Seal Square Line and Tamper Evident Square Line containers are made by using Milliken's additives.
IPL used Milliken's Millad NX 8000 clarifier to reduce power consumption and increase cycle times during processing.
The containers come with thinner walls using about 15% less material compared to the previous designs, and have a square shape for improved usage of compared to round containers.
IPL marketing segment manager Joll Sergerie said the company is committed to continuous improvement in sustainability, both in its products and corporate operations.
"Through a multi-faceted approach encompassing design innovations and advanced additive technology from Milliken, our longstanding collaboration partner, we have created two new container lines that deliver measurable reductions in power consumption, raw material and fuel usage, and carbon emissions while promoting recycling," Sergerie said.
The containers are claimed to be suitable for in-mold labeling on three surfaces that offer balance of photo-quality branding and convenient visibility into the contents of the container.
Film Seal Square Line containers are offered in 12-, 16-, 32-, and 48-oz sizes and their target applications include deli products such as cheese in brine, prepared salads, dips, spreads and salsa.
Available in 8-, 12-, 16-, 32-, and 48-oz sizes, the Tamper Evident Square Line containers are suitable for prepared salads, specialty cheeses, dips and spreads.
