Colgate-Palmolive is supporting the recyclability of packaging through joining the New Plastics Economy initiative of Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
The company is targeting 100% recyclability of packaging across all its product categories, and intends to achieve 25% recycled content in all plastic packaging by 2025.
Colgate-Palmolive is planning to achieve a scalable improvement in the capacity and quality of recycled material for packaging in the coming years.
The company will also continue to focus on the reduction and elimination of problematic and unnecessary plastic packaging.
Recently, the firm launched a reengineered fabric softener sachet in Latin America, as well as redesigned toothpaste packaging in China, enabling to save over 50 tons of plastic annually.
The company also achieved a significant reduction in problematic plastics, and currently 98% of the firm’s packaging is PVC-free and plans to achieve 100% by 2020.
Colgate-Palmolive said its sustainability report of this year provides information on the firm’s long-standing commitments, details ongoing progress, and highlights the latest achievements in sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
The firm focuses on launching valuable materials to into the supply chain through consumer packaging, enabling to create a circular economy.
