Airmall Has Installed 360-Degree LED Video Boards Bwi Marshall Airport

Airmall, an airport concessions developer from North America, has installed one of the first 360-degree LED video boards at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI Marshall) Airport. The video boards from Daktronics offers better viewing angle to the patrons for shopping and dining information in the Airport.

The nine-foot diameter video board is located at the convergence of three passenger corridors in D Concourse and is one of the only display board at an airport that offers wide viewing angles for patrons as they pass, along with the ability to view it from multiple vantage points.

The display is 95.5 ft2 and is comprised of 186,624 pixels with each pixel containing three LED's like green, red and blue. Each pixel is capable of displaying more than 4.4 trillion colors. It provides 85 square feet of video messaging to inform travelers about shopping and dining options along with special promotions and seasonal messaging.

All displays are controlled with Daktronics Visiconn display management solution, allowing the users to manage displays from any Internet-ready computer. The technology quickly creates and display concessions messages and graphics on the LED displays to target their content to the audience at a particular location or certain time of day.

Brett Kelly, vice president of AIRMALL Maryland, said that the installation of new 360-degree LED video board from Daktronics helps concessionaires reach travelers with clear visual messaging on the numerous high-quality shopping and dining options available at the Airmall located BWI.
