Specifications for a new Google smartphone have been published on a pre-order page by Carphone Warehouse, before the device has been launched.
The Google Nexus 4 handset will be available for free on tariffs of £31 per month and above – although a minimum tariff of £33 per month will be required to get any data included – on O2 or Vodafone, and the website promises delivery on 30 October.
The phone is manufactured by LG and will ship with the most up-to-date Android mobile operating system – Android 4.2 or Jelly Bean.
It will feature a 4.7in LCD touchscreen, both a front and rear-facing camera, near-field communication (NFC) capabilities and run on a SnapDragon S4 processor from Qualcomm.

Rumours have been rife that Google would launch a new handset before the end of the month, and the event was expected to clash with the release of Windows Phone 8 from Microsoft.
Computer Weekly contacted Google to confirm the specifications published by Carphone Warehouse, but the retailer had not responded at the time of publication.
