Lextar Witnesses March Revenues up

LED firm Lextar Electronics has reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.178 billion (US$37.4 million) for March, increasing 11.78% sequentially and 4.92% on year, and its January-March consolidated revenues totaled NT$3.502 billion, growing 8.67% on year.

Lextar, which provides LED epitaxial wafers, chips and packaging services, has seen increasing orders for backlight units used in direct-type LCD TVs and wide-color-gamut models, the company said, adding it has also applied flip-chip and white-chip packaging technologies to direct-type LED backlights and smartphone camera flashes.

Lextar has begun shipments of LED light tubes and panels for commercial use and light bulbs and projection lamps for residential use, the company said. Lextar will soon begin to ship optoelectronic solutions consisting of DOB (driver on board) and high-voltage LED chip packaging to LED lamp vendors.
