Yarn Expo Autumn 2014, Opened Today in Shanghai

Yarn Expo Autumn 2014, opened today in Shanghai with nearly 150 overseas and domestic yarn suppliers exhibiting at the fair and debut of Knitwear Innovation and Design Society at the fair.

This fair, which is being held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2014 and PH Value, will be located in hall N4 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and occupies an area of 5,000 sq meters.

Exhibitors from 14 countries like Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, China, Pakistan, Seychelles, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey and Uzbekistan are exhibiting at the fair.

Products include a wide spectrum of natural and blended yarns including cotton, wool, flax / regenerated flax, and man-made fibres and yarns as well as specialty products including elastic, and fancy and blended yarns.

Other than sourcing, this edition features a demonstration by the Knitwear Innovation and Design Society (KIDS) from Hong Kong with four of its member companies participating.

Among them, Shima Seiki (Hong Kong) Ltd will showcase its APEX3 design software that integrates the production process into one efficient workflow and helps save sampling costs for users.

KPC Yarn will introduce wool fibres, and cotton-wool blended and cashmere yarns, while Consinee will present its cashmere and mohair high count yarns.

Hale Textiles Ltd, on the other hand, will display its fashion collection “Life is full of fun”, featuring knitted cashmere and merino wool outfits with digital prints.

Wendy Wen, Senior GM at Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd said, “More of our exhibitors are featuring eco products this year as they want to tap into the rising textile consumption, especially that of eco-textiles.” (AR)
