Namik Ekinci, chairman of the Turkish Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), commented on Malaysia's decision to terminate the antidumping (AD) duty investigation on steel wire rod imports from Taiwan, China, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey and not to impose AD duty on Turkey. “Turkey has regained the Malaysian wire rod market that was lost for a short while due to the duty investigation” Ekinci said.
Ekinci stated that the achievement related to the duty investigation launched by Malaysia will be a source of motivation for Turkey regarding other trade cases by several countries, underscoring that in the last two years, 12 countries resorted to safeguard measures regarding steel products imported from Turkey.
