The latest data published by National Energy Administration shows that by end-2012 China has become the largest energy producing country in the world. China’s power-generation capacity has reached 1,140,000,000 Kilowatt. Among them, hydropower capacity has reached 249,000,000 Kilowatt, ranking first in the world. China's installed wind capacity has reached 63,000,000 Kilowatt, which makes China the world’s largest wind power country. Solar PV power installed capacity has reached 7,000,000 Kilowatt. Nuclear power capacity under construction ranks first in the world.
According to Liu Tienan, director of National Energy Administration, China will increase effective energy supply and optimize the development of coal electricity generation. And work hard to develop unconventional Oil & Gas such as coal bed gas is necessary. Thus, stable energy supply and demand of the whole year can be guaranteed.
