It is learned that Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) will increase prices for the steel distributors from August 23rd. According the an industry source said earlier this week, the company will adjust price of hot rolled coil by 6.75% higher while cold rolled coil will increased by 5.5 and galvanized coil by 6.5%. This price adjustment is a move by CSN after rivals Usiminas and ArcelorMittal decided to raise their prices as of this Monday. Besides, it also comes amid intensified appreciation of the real against the dollar, which makes imports difficult and facilitates exports.
