Available in Tesco and Asda from 4 November, the first odd numbered multipacks to be introduced will kick off with a 5x415g Heinz Beanz promotional offering.
According to Heinz, the new multipacks are intended to offer flexibility for shoppers and will give them the choice of four-, five- or six-can multipacks as well as single cans.
The packs are being produced at Heinz's factory in Wigan, following what the company called "significant investment" in new technology to make the five-can pack possible.
Rafi Arkin, marketing manager for Heinz Beanz, said: "Leading on another first for the industry is an incredibly exciting moment for us.
"Whilst multipacks always have been a good source of value for money, consumers were previously bound by four and six can family packs. The new five packs add further flexibility, ensuring we are able to fulfil varying consumer demand."
