The Mazda CX-9 range has been mildly updated for 2014 with new exterior enhancements and additional technology.
With no impact on pricing, all Mazda CX-9 models now receive new-look wheels – 18-inch for Classic and 20-inch for Luxury and Grand Touring – and updated exterior paint colours with new Jet Black and Blue Reflex mica finishes.
Powered by the same 204kW/367Nm 3.7-litre V6 and six-speed automatic as the rest of the range, the flagship CX-9 Grand Touring all-wheel drive now also adds rear cross traffic alert to its list of safety technology.
Assisting drivers when reversing from a parking space by using visual and aural warnings when a radar detects oncoming traffic from either side of the reversing car, the system joins the existing Grand Touring-specific features of blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, forward obstruction warning, high beam control and rear parking sensors.
The updated Mazda CX-9 range is on sale now.
To the end of August, 2919 CX-9s have been sold this year, trailing the Toyota Prado (10,226), Ford Territory (9309), Holden Captiva 7 (9247), Toyota Kluger (8144), Jeep Grand Cherokee (7320), Mitsubishi Pajero (4275), and the Hyundai Santa Fe (4267).
