Pakistan Beverage has installed second blower from liquid packaging solutions provider Sidel in a bid to meet increasing market demand
The company has equipped its production facility in Karachi with the new Standalone SBO8 Universal2Eco blower.
With the addition of the new blower, Pakistan Beverage will be able to produce close to 16,000 bottles every hour in 500ml, 1.5l and 2.25l formats.
The blower employs Ecoven technology and is said to reduce electricity consumption and offers a large heating reserve and fast heating to increase output. It also claimed to offer heat treatment precision, ensuring identical PET bottle characteristics and quality.
Pakistan Beverage manufacturing operations group director Ronnie Daruwalla said: "At Pakistan Beverage Limited, we always strive to operate reliable equipment that can help us keep up with the market demand. We have worked with Sidel for almost two decades, and with the use of their machines and innovative solutions, we have seen our production capacity increase."
Since its installation last year, the first SBO Universal2eco blower has been producing multi-serve packages while optimising operating costs.
Sidel said that consumption of carbonated soft drinks was estimated at 825.9 million liters last year and is expected to exceed one billion liters by the end of 2019.
The growing consumer demand drives the need for greater production volume at an increased level of efficiency.
In addition to the Karachi facility, Pakistan Beverage operates Yasir Fruit Juice, Hyderabad plant, Quetta plant and the Aquafina site in the country.
