Barker DZP has been named the 2013 People's Voice Webby Award Winner in the category of Best Mobile App in Entertainment for the agency's work on the People's Choice Awards, a property of Procter and Gamble Entertainment.
The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. This year's Webbys received over 11,000 entries from all 50 states and over 60 countries. The People's Voice Awards set a Webby record with over 1.5 million votes cast from over 200 countries and territories.
Barker DZP's mobile app for The People's Choice Awards allows fans to cast their votes for their favorites in Music, Film and Television.
"Each year, The People's Choice Awards challenges us to engage our millions of fans in new ways," said John Barker, President and Chief Idea Officer of the New York-based agency. Barker DZP will be honored at the star-studded ceremony on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, where winners will have an opportunity to deliver one of The Webby Awards' famous 5-Word Speeches. The show will be hosted by critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, writer and actor, Patton Oswalt.
