Showing an Increase of Construction Employment in 23 States From July to August

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics latest employment report shows an increase of construction employment in 23 states from July to August.  In comparison, only 20 states showed employment growth from June to July in construction-related industries.

Among notable increases, Arkansas saw a 4.8 percent increase—from 41,900 in July to 43,900 in August employed in construction-related jobs. Another significant increase occurred in Alabama, where construction-related employment rose 2.6 percent, from 72,700 in July to 74,600 in August.

New Mexico saw the largest drop in construction-related employment for the month, with a 6.8 percent decrease from 42,500 to 39,600.
