U-Haul Company of Northern Louisiana is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage to residents of Shreveport, Bossier City and surrounding areas who have been impacted by the ongoing floods.
Portions of Louisiana have taken on significant water in the last day and the chance of more rain could cause home and property damage for many residents, creating the need for storage options where people can keep their possessions.
"The local news reported groups are going door to door, getting some people out of their homes due to rising water," said Warren Iles, U-Haul Company of Northern Louisiana president. "A lot of neighborhoods and roads are flooded.
"Our role as a hands-on community member is to help however we can, especially during times like these. We want to offer affected individuals and families a free, dry, secure location to bring their belongings while we all work through this flooding and its aftermath."
