Rengo Buys 80% Stake in Indonesian Corrugated Packaging Firm

Thai Containers Group (TCG), a joint venture between Rengo and SCG Packaging Public Company, has acquired an 80% interest in PT Indocorr Packaging Cikarang.

PT Indocorr, which operates in eastern Jakarta, produces corrugated packaging products for its customers.

In Indonesia, Rengo also acquired PT Primacorr Mandiri in September 2013, as well as PT Indoris Printingdo in December 2014 through TCG.

The latest  acquisition is said to increase Rengo’s distribution operations for corrugated packaging and folding cartons to seven in Indonesia.

PT Surya Rengo Containers operates four facilities from the seven.

Rengo said the corrugated packaging business in Southeast Asia is a strategic focus for the overseas operations of the group and it will focus to expand its corrugated packaging supply system within the region.

Rengo provides packaging solution in six core fields, including paperboard, corrugated packaging, folding cartons, flexible packaging, heavy duty packaging, and overseas business.

The company produces several paperboard products ranging from containerboard such as linerboard and corrugating medium to boxboard and tube board, chipboard and processed paper.

Rengo also produces CR board for use in folding cartons, which can be used in different applications, including cosmetics, medicines, processed foods, confectionary, tissue, food wraps and others.

The company's corrugated packaging solutions are used in various applications, including functional corrugated packaging and decorative printing.
