UK-based converter and supplier of flexible packaging materials, FFP Packaging Solutions will install a new Titan SR9-DT Dual Turret slitter rewinder from Atlas Converting Equipment in June 2012. It will feature an electronic slit reel unloading system.
The new slitter rewinder technology platform provides good performance and improved productivity and also a flexible and sustainable solution in slitting and rewinding.
Atlas focused its product development strategy on achieving reductions in machine downtime for printers and converters, including reduced set change time, lower operator intervention and also reduction of costly waste materials, in the development of the SR9 Series.
According to the company, the Titan SR9-DT rewinder can process a wide range of flexible materials including plain, printed, coated or metallized film from 10 to 200 micron.
A wide range of laminates and paper from 40 to 200gsm at speeds up to 1000 m/min (3,300 ft/min) can also be processed with the new rewinder.
