The Bureau of Energy under the Ministry of Economic Affairs has increased the target installation capacity for rooftop PV systems and PV power-generating stations to be established around Taiwan in 2015 from 270MWp originally to 500MWp, according to the agency.
Accordingly, the budget for 2015 feed-in tariff subsidies will be increased from NT$4.6 billion (US$146 million) to NT$5.3 billion, the agency said.
PV installation capacity in 2014 amounted to 210MWp and the cumulative PV installation capacity as of the end of 2014 reached 615MWp, the agency indicated. 500MWp is expected to be a target PV installation capacity each year beginning 2015.
