Barcelona, Spain — LG unveiled a mid-tier LTE smartphone with Android 4.4 OS, 4.5-inch WVGA IPS display and 1.2GHz quad-core processor.

The F70 also features removable 2,440 mAh battery, said to offer the largest capacity in its class, and Knock Code, which appeared first in the upper-tier G-series phones and tablets. Knock Code lets users power on and unlock the phone by tapping the screen using one of 86,367 “knock” combinations. A knock pattern using from two to eight taps can be entered on any area of the screen, even if the display is off.

The company previously announced plans to expand Knock Code to more devices and previously scheduled the 3G L Series II smartphones in the field to get a Knock upgrade.

Other key F70 features include thin bezel ,4.5-inch WVGA IPS 800 by 480 display with 207 ppi, 1GB RAM, 4GB embedded memory, 32GB MicroSD card slot, 5-megapixel main camerae and front VGA camera.

Easy Home is a user-interface feature that simplifies the home screen and increases the size of icons and fonts to make the transition to a smartphone easier for first time users.
