US Steel Gary Works Plant Has Said That Although They Have Resumed Steelmaking

According to local news reports, a spokesperson for the US Steel Gary Works plant has said that although they have resumed steelmaking, their production capacity is still limited.

The plant ceased operations several weeks ago after icy conditions on Lake Superior disrupted iron ore shipments. The company said they were able to bring in some shipments over the weekend which has allowed them to resume operations after an approximate one-week shutdown.

A spokesperson for the plant said they are hopeful they’ll get additional iron ore shipments this week.
