Samsung has come out with an eight core big.LITTLE IC which uses four Cortex A7 cores and four Cortex A15 cores.
The A7s handle texting, phone calls, playing music and other relatively lightweight tasks, while the A15s handle the heavyweight stuff like HD video streaming and recording or gaming.
Samsung calls the chip the Exynos 5 Octa and it will be made on the company's 28nm process. The company says that the chip doubles the 3D performance of anything else on the market.
No one knows what Samsung will use the chip for but, naturally, the rumours are that it will power the Galaxy S4.
