The South Korean automaker Kia motors is recalling nearly 22,000 of its 2009 model year Borrego SUVs over break problems.
According to the company, the non-adjustable brake pedals composed of a fiberglass material, equipped in the Borrego SUV, are expected to break during a collision and would not completely stop the vehicle.
According to the US National Highway traffic Safety Administration the vehicles manufactured between 02 May 2008 and 20 January 2009 are affected by recall.
The current recall follows the earlier recall of 2006-2008 Kia Rio sedans over front air bag issues, which would deploy when not required.
Kia said that it will inform owners of the SUV and replace the break pedals at their dealerships.
