MicVac's concept of in-pack microwave cooking and pasteurisation is said to offer up to 40 days of shelf life for ready meals.
The technology helps retain vitamins and anti-oxidants within the sealed packaging, meaning the product, according to its makers, has improved taste, quality and nutritional values.
In addition, the packaging makes a whistling sound when it reaches eating temperature, ensuring that shoppers know they are eating products that have been heated correctly.
Sharpak has obtained a licence to produce and distribute the tray to potential MicVac customers in the UK and the deal will see Sharpak supporting MicVac through its advanced rotary thermoforming technology.
Andrew Niznik, MicVac representative in the UK, said: "Using Sharpak for producing the trays for the MicVac process in the UK has been a seamless transition from design concepts to the first delivery.
"The change has ensured efficiencies across the board from delivery volumes and lead times, and the overall offer has been very competitive within this already aggressive market."
Andrew Copson, managing director at Sharpak Yate and Sharpak Bridgwater, added: "We are pleased to announce this agreement with MicVac which brings together two innovators in packaging.
"We are always seeking ways of introducing added functions that bring value to the consumer and working with MicVac offers an exciting opportunity to do this; thorough the production of a packaging solution which takes an ingenious approach to microwaving food products."
