Prama by Pavigym, an immersive workout experience at fitness clubs throughout Europe will debut in North America at Asphalt Green in New York City on April 19. The interactive system of pressure-sensitive floors and walls, with integrated LED lighting and sound, guides exercisers in a unique training environment.
Asphalt Green, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting individuals of all ages and backgrounds achieve health through sports and fitness, will debut the technology at its 1,800-square-foot studio space that will house the new AG6 class. Asphalt Green's new AG6 fitness class will be the first workout in North America to use interactive Prama technology.
AG6 is a 45-minute, high-intensity, circuit-based workout that that improves muscle memory using the new technology. The fee-based classes will be open to Asphalt Green members and non-members.
"We're thrilled to be the first fitness venue to bring this innovative workout system to North America and New York City," said Maggy Siegel, executive director, Asphalt Green. "AG6 creates a fun, fast-paced energy that's unlike anything you've ever seen in a fitness club."
The new AG6 studio is part of a broader overhaul of Asphalt Green's Murphy Center building project that includes renovations to the first floor auditorium, a new Sports Performance Center (second floor), a new spinning room and martial arts studio (third floor), and an indoor soccer field (fourth floor) that opened in Sep. 2015.
Asphalt Green's Upper East Side campus is also home to Manhattan's premier Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, an indoor turf field, and a full-size outdoor soccer field.
