Three respected names in the local material handling / warehouse equipment industry have formed a strategic alliance to deliver maximum efficiency warehouse solutions.
Linde Material Handling managing director Carl Smith initiated the alliance to bring together the resources of Linde Material Handling, APC Group and Paperless Warehousing under the banner of APL World Class Warehousing.
"My vision was to reinvent and revitalise the industry by developing an offering that encompassed the most technically advanced material handling equipment, industry leading warehouse design tools and warehouse management systems and racking/storage systems,” Mr Smith said.
"By forming a strategic alliance with Stratos, Paperless Warehousing and APC, we have revolutionised the MHE industry by developing a service for any operation no matter how large or small, that will allow them to reduce costs, increase efficiency and maximise their warehouse.”
APL World Class Warehousing aims to identify and eliminate the hidden inefficiencies that see millions of dollars wasted every year – often without those affected being aware of their losses.
Its methods, which are equally applicable to existing warehouses and greenfield sites, utilise Linde’s Stratos warehouse planning, design and simulation system to achieve clients’ goals.
"From the moment Carl Smith from Linde approached us about the idea of forming a strategic alliance between the leaders of the warehousing industry it made more and more sense,” managing director of Paperless Warehousing John Vercoe said.
"It allowed this ‘Best of Breed’ group to offer a complete solution to not only companies contemplating new warehouses but those wanting to re-vitalise their current operations with the best that technology had to offer through ONE supplier, APL World Class Warehousing.”
The alliance aims to design future-proof warehouse solutions, fine-tuned for operational excellence which can deliver potentially massive savings, year on year, even in dramatically changing business conditions.
It does this by calculating the optimal mix of material handling equipment and staff, allowing for seasonal variations or changing frequency of delivery and volume per delivery. These factors are then considered against productivity and cost performance KPIs.
Managing director of APC Ian MacDonald is confident the new alliance will be well received.
"Under our Preferred Partner Program, we had been looking for a strategic alliance that would offer an integrated level of expertise and professionalism not available elsewhere,” he said.
