TricorBraun, Amfora Packaging Establish New South American JV Firm

TricorBraun has collaborated with Amfora Packaging to form a new joint venture (JV) company to serve customers in the South American region.

The partnership has formed TricorBraun South America SAS, which is a 50-50 JV firm with headquarters in Bogotá, Colombia.

It will provide services to the customers in five South American countries, including Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile and Venezuela.

The new firm combines TricorBraun's global and advanced resources with Amfora's local knowledge of markets and customers.

TricorBraun president and CEO Keith Strope said: "This is an exciting business combination that will allow us to gain an even deeper and more rapid foothold in a number of South American markets.”

TricorBraun Latin America general manager Carlos Acedo said: "We could have continued developing these markets on our own, but it would have taken substantially more time.

"We have aggressive growth plans and our relationship with Amfora instantly provides us with a more fully functioning, broad-based business model."

In September, TricorBraun acquired Pennsylvania-based Continental Packaging Associates for an undisclosed sum.

Continental Packaging Associates, which is owned by Howard, Alan and Todd Feldman, supplies packaging solutions for the food, industrial, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.

TricorBraun is a packaging solutions firm, which produces glass and plastic containers, closures, dispensers and tubes.

The firm operates 40 locations across North America and internationally, including London of UK, Guangzhou of China, Hong Kong, and Mumbai of India.
