Manufacturers of Beverage Filling and Packaging Lines Krones Revived Its Subsidiary Kosme

Manufacturers of beverage filling and packaging lines Krones has revived its subsidiary Kosme, which manufactures machines and technologies for the lower output range.

As a part of the restructuring, Kosme has discontinued its operations for production packing and palletising kit and will solely concentrate on its core competencies in the fields of filling and labelling technologies.

The new organisation will solely relate to Kosme's facility in Roverbella, Italy.

To secure the plant's future on a sustainably viable financial basis, the company has altered the product portfolio of Kosme Italy and also worked on changing the capacities to the right size.

However, Kosme Italy will continue to work on the production of complete lines, in addition to the fillers and labellers that are considered to be the company's core business.

Qualified partner companies/suppliers, who meet the requirements for optimum quality laid down by Krones and its subsidiary Kosme, supplement these lines at need.

Established in 1951 and headquartered in Germany, Krones currently employs 12,285 people. Around 90% of the machines manufactured by the company are sold abroad. It recorded consolidated sales of around €2.816bn in 2013.

The company primarily provides lines for breweries, the soft-drinks sector and producers of still or sparkling wines and spirits apart from the food and luxury-goods industries, the chemical, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
