Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in August this year its carbon steel sales volume amounted to 828,661 metric tons, rising 3.35 percent compared to July and accounting for 64 percent of domestic sales. In the first eight months of the current year, the company sold 6.43 million mt of carbon steel, accounting for 64 percent of domestic sales.
In August, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 30.77 billion ($1.02 billion), increasing by 0.4 percent month on month. In the first eight months, the operating revenues of the company totaled NTD 245.99 billion ($8.16 billion). In August, the company registered earnings before tax of NTD 2.87 billion ($95.2 million), increasing by 4.74 percent compared to July.
