chas said that it has received $7.8m in compensation from a contractor who was commissioned to install a clinker production line in 2011.
In a statement to the Muscat Securities Market, the firm said that the contractor had also previously issued a claim against it for payment for other project work, but that the settlement had been agreed "amicably".
The deal involves the contractor providing $109,500 towards another contract for an alternative belt conveyor at its factory.
In February, Oman Cement revealied that it had issued a tender for a new cement mill with a capacity to grind up to 150 tons of cement an hour.
The company s sales for 2012 increased by 23.78% in volume terms to 2.3m metric tons, or 18.25% in value to $147m. Net profits climbed by 37% to $45.4m.
