LED lights are being used by a plethora of different companies and families now as they have realised the true energy saving benefits they provide.
The illuminations are used for a number of different purposes from helping people to sleep to saving much-needed pennies on energy bills.
They are also being used for security purposes in some cases.
One such instance is in Gloucester as the nightclub Liquid revealed that it would be installing LED outdoor lights in the surrounding area of its premises in order to save money.
Indeed, there is going to be a £25,000 upgrade to get LED lights installed and the amount of lighting in Eastgate Street is to be doubled as a result.
This is being done to try and reduce crime in the area after nights out.
A spokesman for the nightclub told The Citizen that Liquid is a well-run, professional and secure venue that is enjoyed by over 125,000 people each and every year, so they are making these changes to safeguard the future.
He added that the establishment is the town's key landmark late-night venue so it is important that people feel safe when they attend.
"The safety and security of our customers is and always has been our main priority. We have recently invested £20,000 upgrading our CCTV technology and now have 64 cameras both inside and outside the venue."
A police spokesman also told the news provider that it is unfair for people to think that the nightclub is a hub for crime, stating that work has been done over the last few years to stop this from happening.
This use of LED lighting should come as no surprise as the Taiwan LED Lighting Industry Alliance recently forecast that the market for the illuminations will grow by as much as 32 per cent by 2020.
