Canada-based Catalyst Paper has introduced a new range of uncoated food service papers.
The range includes Bistro Wax, Bistro Foil and Bistro Bag, which are specially-designed bleached grades developed for various food service applications.
Bistro range can be used in a variety of applications such as wrappers, basket liners, deli papers, and flat and pinch bottom bags.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) compliant Bistro brands are available in 15 to 40 pound basis weights (lbs. per 3,000 ft2).
Bistro is produced at the firm’s FDA-compliant Powell River mill, said Catalyst Paper.
Catalyst Paper specialty papers and new product development vice president Brian Boland said: “We are excited to introduce the Bistro family to the market, following on the recent commercial launch of LEAP, our lightweight food packaging papers.

Catalyst Paper produces various papers, including coated freesheet, coated one side (C1S), flexible and industrial packaging, food service, coated and uncoated groundwood, newsprint, directory and market pulp.
The firm will supply its products to customers such as retailers, publishers and commercial printers in North America, Latin America, the Pacific Rim and Europe.
With annual production capacity of 2.3 million tones, the company operates five mills across North America.
