There Is a Imports Decrease on Japan's Coking Coal in May

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's coking coal imports totaled 6.08 million metric tons in May this year, down by 18 percent month on month and down 0.8 percent compared to May 2012.

In May, Japan's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 3.3 million metric tons, down 8.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while Indonesia exported 1.2 million mt of coking coal to Japan in May, rising by 18 percent year on year.

In the first five months of 2013, Japan's coking coal imports amounted to 31.3 million metric tons, increasing by 8.7 percent year on year.
