Upholstery producer Jackson Furniture is opening two new plants in northeastern Mississippi over the next three years, investing $2 million in the new locations and hiring 250 employees.
Officials said the company will have an 186,000-square-foot production facility in Mantachie and a 160,000-square-foot facility in Myrtle. The average worker salary is projected to be $25,000.
The Mississippi Development Authority is giving the company $750,000 for renovation and relocation costs, as well as worker training valued at $1.016 million. The Appalachian Regional Commission is giving $300,000 for infrastructure improvements.
Jackson Furniture is based in Cleveland, Tenn., makes sofas, recliners, chairs, tables and rugs under the Catnapper and Jackson brands. The company introduced a line of Duck Dynasty-branded furniture in camouflage patterns and outdoor prints at the High Point Market in October.

The Mississippi facilities will give the company a total of four factories. The others are in Cleveland and Front Royal, Va.
