Loftware Wins Aim Aidc Award

Loftware Enterprise labeling solutions, located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, has won the prestigious Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) Case Study Competition 2014 for laser printing, organized by the Pennsylvania-based Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility (AIM).

The award will be presented to Loftware Enterprise on the 8th of September, 2014, at the Industry Awards Luncheon during the AIM Summit 2014, in Washington, D.C. The award, given annually by AIM, recognizes those who have developed and delivered compelling solutions that contribute to the growth and advancement of automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) through innovation and technologies which provide benefits that decrease risk, increase the demand, and accelerate the adoption of AIDC throughout the world.

Hypertherm, a recognized leader with nearly 50 years of experience as a manufacturer of advanced plasma, laser and water jet cutting systems, recently faced problems due to their existing 'home grown' product label printing system. It began to pose considerable risks to Hypertherm's operations, which contributed to customer dissatisfaction, brand integrity issues, and lost revenues due to mislabeling issues.

To meet these challenges, Loftware provided Hypertherm with Loftware Spectrum, an out-of-box, 100% browser-based, all-in-one enterprise labeling system, with a streamlined and centralized approach. The implementation provided immediate results and met the company's on-demand labeling print requirements throughout all of Hypertherm's locations and across their worldwide network of suppliers.

With the implementation of Loftware Specturm, Hypertherm could reduce downtime, achieve greater consistency, streamline manual processes, scale globally, get unlimited access, and improve customer responsiveness. The project's results also helped streamline heavy manual process and reduced mislabeling. It also helped enabling support for supplier labeling and simplify maintenance, by reduce complexity of label design.

"We applaud Loftware's amazing efforts to not only save millions of dollars for Hypertherm, but show their suppliers and customers around the world what incredibly positive impact AIDC technologies can have for everyone. This is a perfect example of how to leverage the power of business for future growth and success," said Mary Lou Bosco, AIM's Chief Operating Officer.

For more than 40 years, AIM has served as the association and worldwide authority on automatic identification, data collection and networking in a mobile environment.

AIM members are manufacturers, distributors, resellers and end-users of bar code, RFID, RTLS and mobile computing solutions.
