In the first two months of this year, Colombia exported 23,349 mt of ferronickel, increasing by 30.8 percent, with a value of $96.17 million, down 5.8 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In February this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 10,516 mt, rising by 46.3 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $42.44 million, up 0.9 percent, both compared to February 2013.
In the first two months of the current year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 38,447 mt, down 9.8 percent, with a value of $117.2 million, down 14.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In February this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 18,862 mt, increasing by 11.9 percent, and were worth $53.71 million, down 3.1 percent, both compared to the same month of 2013.
