DS Smith has inaugurated its fifth PackRight Centre, constructed at the Kaarst location in the Düsseldorf metropolitan area, Germany.
The PackRight Centre concept creates individual display and packaging solutions by considering all aspects of customer's respective supply cycle.
In May last year, DS Smith opened the first PackRight Centre of the Germany & Switzerland region in Hamburg.
The other centers are located in Erlensee in the Rhine-Main area, in Pulheim, and in the Swiss town of Oftringen.
DS Smith said the PackRight Centre concept can significantly reduce the time-to-market, while bringing real added value to its customers.
The company noted that even before the centre was officially opened, some of its customers conducted workshops at the site and during the inauguration ceremony, some of them related their experiences.
The centers allowed customers, who mainly come from the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, to significantly shorter the time-to-market. Besides this, some of the solutions developed at the PackRight centres have been able to generate more sales at points of sale, lower costs and reduce risks and complexities in supply cycle.
DS Smith Germany & Switzerland managing director Per V Frederiksen said: “The centres are extremely well-received by our customers, which only goes to show that we are heading in the right direction with our unique concept to increase value creation for our customers.”
DS Smith customer excellence director Stefan Eller said: “Customer representatives from different fields get together with DS Smith designers in the workshops held in our DS Smith PackRight Centres. This not only helps to shed light on the supply cycle from all angles, it also makes internal coordination processes much easier for our customers, because their own experts are directly involved in the development and can make contributions from their respective areas of expertise.
