Business Activity on The European Sales Markets Has Scarcely Improved

Austrian softwood lumber producers believe business activity on the European sales markets has scarcely improved at all in the last six weeks. Producers are still talking of a rather sluggish influx of orders for the time of year. In some cases businesses only have backlogs of orders to last them for a few days, which is ultimately also causing problems in planning production. Austrian softwood lumber producers are describing log procurement as still difficult. In the south of the country in particular and along the Danube, demand is noticeably higher than the existing supply. Source: euwid-wood-products
