Siemens subsidiary Mentor Graphics is set to exhibit its Valor suite of software and hardware internet of things (IoT) technologies at the SMT Hybrid Packaging event in Germany.
The event will take place from 16 to 18 May in Nuremberg.
At the world's first live Industry 4.0 factory floor, the solutions being showcased include machine and line equipment vendors, factory solution providers, and enterprise systems such as manufacturing execution systems (MES), manufacturing operations management (MOM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP).
Valor IoT manufacturing hardware offers IoT infrastructure for the entire packaging assembly line, helping to accelerate interfaces for machines that do not need Open Manufacturing Language (OML) directly.
Mentor's Valor IoT software is said to provide machine and line performance reporting, progress data and information associated to material consumption and traceability.
Valor Finite Production Planning software will create and accommodate product work-order flows based on dynamic customer delivery demand patterns.
Valor Production Plan product will create a production process for high product mix, with specific knowledge of the different SMT and related machines.
In addition, Valor Lean Material Management product offers an automated supply chain, comprising of a complete logistics engine for a lean materials flow with just in time materials delivery.
It helps in normalizing and exchanging information in the OML format between the machines and processes throughout the lines and across different lines into factory-wide computerizations and to the enterprise systems.
