Steinhoff International announced the takeover of the Kika/Leiner Group at the end of June. Steinhoff reports that the relevant contracts have already been signed. Dr Herbert Koch, chairman of Kika/Leiner's supervisory board, also confirmed the pending change of ownership.Steinhoff Europe will acquire all shares in the Kika/Leiner Group in a single transaction. According to information from the newspaper Die Presse, the purchase price will be roughly €600m, but that figure has not been commented on by the companies involved. Completion of the transaction is still subject to the approval of the EU Commission's competition authorities and by the cartel agency in Serbia.
