UK-based contract development services provider NextPharma Technologies has announced the launch of its expanded production area and ‘stick pack’ packaging capabilities at its Bielefeld facility in Germany.
According to NextPharma, stick pack is a small tube shaped sachet and the latest investment is part of its five year growth plan that includes new rooms, air conditioning and technical infrastructure at the plant.
The company doubled the Bielefeld production area to 3,400m2, following a ten month renovation phase.
NextPharma chief operating officer Andrew Kelly said usage of the first three stick pack packaging lines, which are already operational within the expanded facility, is set to be at 50% by the end of 2013.
"NextPharma is reinforcing its position as a strategic partner for the development and commercial manufacturing of non-sterile drugs," Kelly added.
