Tetra Pak has introduced a new package which will enable dairy and juice drinks to be produced and distributed in small carton pouches at room temperature.
They can also be turned into frozen products in shops or in a consumer’s home
The new pack, Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM, offers an opportunity for customers to manufacture liquid dairy and juice drinks using their current production processes, and market them as ice creams and frozen products.
Tetra Pak said that the package features a pre-applied opening using Micro Injection Moulding technology. This allows customers to open the package entirely by pulling the tab.
China-based food company, Want Want is the first firm to trial Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM product, Tetra Pak said.
Want Want Group ice product business unit general manager Wang Jin Ping said: “We announced these new products to our distributors in early September.
“The response has been extremely positive because these products meet the needs of both parents and children.
“Parents can be reassured of the nutritional values of the product because it is their trusted Want Want flavored milk without any preservatives, while children will be happy to enjoy these frozen treats because they are fun and tasty.”
Capable of being produced on the A1 Tetra Pak filling machine platform, the Tetra Fino Aseptic 100 Ultra MiM package is planned to be made available in the Middle East, Europe and Asia from 2018.
